Iran Reports Attack on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Regional Retaliatory Strikes.
Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed strikes throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a significant and ongoing attack against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area in the area of the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any destruction is unclear and the American officials has yet to issue a statement.
Regional Interceptions
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - stated they have intercepted missiles in their territorial skies.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was striking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on the Islamic Republic carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That preceding assault - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck locations associated with the the regime, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to revolt against the regime.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems responded to the missiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," it added.
Officials reported debris fell on a residential area in the capital, resulting in some structural damage and killing a civilian.
The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
